Ok, so this is just me holding my hands up in full recognition of the fact that I haven’t posted in a while. I’m sure there are people thinking “oh really, I hadn’t noticed”, but there may also be some who have thought I have run out steam, or enthusiasm, or things to complain about. Well the truth is I haven’t run out of enthusiasm, or things to complain about, (far from it). I have spent quite a lot of time in the continual company of my two little basta-, sorry children. Yes, the summer came and went dominated by the whims and desires of what SA lovingly calls our little “life sappers”. Six weeks scraping dog poo off trainers, picking up Match Attax cards, breaking up fights and locating the places in the South East that have both a licensed bar and something for the kids to do in a light drizzle.
I have also been trying to earn the odd pound – both to reassure my husband that I haven’t given up on contributing entirely, and to justify the cost of my moisturiser.
Something I have not done an awful lot of is writing. Or exercise. Which is naughty, but I did attend The Festival of Writing, run by The Writer’s Workshop which involves a lot of talking about writing (so counts towards writing), and networking (badly) in heels (exercise). I presented to an agent some of my work in progress – a book I am writing about SA and me and what it was like in the early days, becoming The Wheelie Wife. I’ve made a good start but there’s still a way to go so I just want to say (if you haven’t finished your poo or been called in by the dentist yet and therefore are still reading), that your support means EVERYTHING. Please stick with me, and if you’re good I may even show you a bit sometime soon.
(Of the book I mean)
